New Years Day Walk with NOTFAST

My wife is a member of a local running club called NOTFAST.  It stands for something like Newark Over Thirty Five And Still Trying.  In addition to training a couple of times a week they also enter races and sometimes organise bike rides and walks.  One of these walks takes place every New Years Day and is organised by the Club Chairman.  I went along today to accompany my wife and to be honest it was very pleasant and culminated in a carvery at the Muston Gap Inn on the A52 between Grantham and Nottingham, which is also where we parked.

The route was over varied terrain and, despite initially being quite wet underfoot, improved as the day progressed. If you look below you will find a copy of the route from my wife's new Garmin Forerunner and some pics.  Total distance was 12 miles and I would highly recommend the route, but would probably save it for spring when there is a hope it might be drier.  The carvery was excellent and, with two adult carveries and a pint of lager coming in at just short of £12, was great value.
